  • visit the Tample of the Tooth and watch the ceremonies taking place here,

  • go to the orphanage for elephants in Pinnewala, just 40 km west from Kandy,

  • visit the botanical garden Peradenia, the largest in Sri Lanka that houses 4000 tree species,

  • explore the tea plantations in the area; you can go near Ella village or to Nuwara Eliya,

  • there are also other temples that deserve to assign time exploring them like Hindagala Vihara and Natha Devale
